Learning that I lost 22 pounds after having bilaterial knee replacement, I decided to rebuild my wardrobe because (1) some of my clothes are too big and (2) the surgery left me with a long scar up the front of my knees, which means when I make my skirts and dresses, they are going to have to cover that area. Right now I'm very conscious of how the scars look, I'm not comfortable wearing skirts and dresses above my knees like I used to do before I had the surgery. I LOVE showing my legs, the lengths of most of my skirts and dresses are above my knees. I didn't know what I was going to do with those skirts and dresses, but someone suggested to me that during the winter I can still wear them with tights. That was a very good suggestion.
I've had McCalls 6282 in my pattern collection for a very long time, when I was searching for a quick dress to make, I found that I bought several copies of this pattern. I heard the pattern was very easy to make. I decided to give it a try. Well, they were right, it's a quick sew and the fit is very flattering.
Unfortunately, I don't have a picture of me wearing the dress, but I will be making this dress again.

Straight,hip-length, lined top, above mid-knee length lined dress have front high or low cowl, waistline ruching
Pattern Sizing: I cut size 16 for my bust; I cut a size 18 for my midsection and I cut a size 20 for my hips and tapered to an 18 for below my knees.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern
envelope? Yes
What did you particularly like or dislike about the
pattern? It was easy and it's a great fit.
Fabric Used: ITY knit
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I ALWAYS add about 1 1/2 inches to the back because I have a round butt.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? Yes and Yes
Conclusion: I would gather the ruching more so it would be more in the middle of the dress, especially in the back.
