This blog was created to display my passion for sewing. I love making custom made clothing, I love seeing a piece of fabric transform into a garment. Please join me on my journey as I share my passion with you. I will blog about some of my life experiences as well.

2015 RTW FASTERS
What constitutes an RTW Fast? .. Refraining from buying ALL clothes including outerwear, dresses, tops, pants, shorts, sweaters, coats, fitness apparel, jeans and bathing suits beginning January 1, 2015 through December 21, 2015. Shoes, socks and under garments are permitted.
I'm participating in this year long sewing challenge with a sewing group on Facebook. This will be my first time participating and I'm super excited. During this year's challenge I will find the RTW price (if I can) and compare it to what it cost me to make it. Now that may be a challenge within itself because I have a lot of fabric and I don't know how much I paid for it, but for the fabric that does have the label on it, I will record that information. I will post pictures of all of the garments I make. Please follow me on my blog as I embark on this year's journey to make all of my clothes.

FIRST POST OF 2015
My first post for 2015 is about some bake ware I’ve purchased. I’ve
fallen in love with “Cooks Bake ware” which is sold only at JCPenny.
During the holidays I had to bake several cakes, the cake pan
I had was very old with a lever that you move around the pan to loosen the cake
from the sides and bottom of the cake pan.
Sometimes some of the cake would be left inside the pan. I decided it was time to replace the
pan. I went to JCPenny in search of a
cake pan; to my surprise they were having a sale on some of their bake ware. The salesperson told me Cooks was a very good
product and she highly recommends it. She
said she uses it herself, so I took her advice and purchased a few items. I found this heavy-gauge steel 9” Round Cake
pan, its non-stick and I love the handles.
I baked my first ever red velvet cake in this pan, once the cake pan
cooled; the cake slide right out of the pan, it was perfect. To keep these cake pans in good condition, do
not use metal or sharp-edged utensils which will scratch the nonstick
surfaces. It’s recommended not to let
them sit in water overnight, although they are dishwasher safe, it’s
recommended not to use dishwasher detergent tables because the concentrated
cleaner will damage the finish. It’s
best to hand wash the pans and dry them promptly and thoroughly after washing.
These are some of the other bake ware/cookware I purchased.
Cookie Sheets
5 qt chili pot with lid
Zester
9 inch square baking dish
I’m very happy with the Cooks products and I will be purchasing more in the very near future.

I’M BACK…..
I can’t believe I haven’t blogged since May 29, 2014. There have been some things that have
happened in my life since May that kept me preoccupied and away from blogging,
things that needed my immediate attention and things I did not want to blog
about. Blogging takes a lot of time and
commitment, now it’s time for me to make the time and commit to blogging to
share my passion which is sewing, teaching and cooking. Yes, I love to cook so I will be posting some
of the meals I cook on Sundays. During
my absence from blogging I have made several things for clients that I will
post in the near future. I may not be able to blog daily but I’m going to make
a conscious effort to blog at least one a week (for now). As time goes on, I will blog more. Viewing other blogs gave me the kick-start to
get back to blogging. I’ve taken photos of several things I want to blog about
and I have the stories to go with those photos but I did not take the time to
sit down and actually put pen to paper or in this world of technology, put my
fingers on the keyboard of my laptop to blog.
